Where is a line scan camera used?
Line scan technology is recommended for applications in which large, high-resolution, or high-speed image capture is required, such as in a continuous web application. It is required for tasks that require defect-free continuous imaging in high-speed environments.
A line scan camera rectifies image gain and offset ratio in the camera. In contrast, an area scan camera uses the vision system’s CPU to compute this correction and is consequently much slower.

Powered by the cutting-edge ELITE8K CMOS line scan camera sensor by Teledyne AnaFocus and our signature 10GigE Vision with SFP+ interface, the LR-8K is a class apart in high-speed, low-noise, high-precision line scan imaging.
The all-new LR-8K line scan camera comes with a range of cutting-edge specifications, including:

The LR-8K comes with a CMOS line scan image sensor from Teledyne AnaFocus. It is a powerful multi-line scan sensor that gives a range of shootout modes and optimized readout times for enhanced performance.
The ELITE8K CMOS sensor also provides enhanced controls for multi-line scan, such as the multi-line readout mode that allows custom exposure start time and duration settings for each individual line.
The sensor is powerful, offering a maximum frame rate of 200,000 fps. With a sensor resolution of 8,196x8 pixels, the ELITE8K CMOS sensor delivers true 8K vision for enhanced line scan imaging possibilities.
10 GigE Vision with SFP+ interface
Another important component that sets the EVT LR-8K line scan camera apart is its interface that is powered by 10 GigE Vision. With a CMOS sensor and 10 GigE integrated, the LR-8K is very efficient in terms of performance and energy consumption.
We have also used the SFP+ direct attach cable that supports great distances. Through the SFP+ interface, the LR-8K can transmit data at distances of up to 1 kilometer.
Global and rotating shutter support with multi-line readout
The EVT LR-8K comes with support for both global and rotating shutter technologies to provide agile line scan possibilities under all circumstances. While the rotating shutter technology, flat panel inspection with lower noise is possible while the global shutter technology uses A/D conversion for faster moving objects while retaining depth and optimizing noise levels.
Moreover, the all new LR-8K line scan camera supports multiple line scans. As many as 4 rows can be scanned in rolling or global shutter modes, with the possibility of scanning up to 8 rows in special modes.
