NVIDIA GPUDirect for Emergent NICs on Linux and Windows
Emergent Vision Technologies Announces NVIDIA GPUDirect Support on Linux and Windows for its 10, 25, and 100GigE Network Interface Cards
Emergent Vision Technologies is announcing upcoming Linux and Windows support for NVIDIA GPUDirect across its full range of high-performance network interface cards (NICs), including the Theia 10GigE Series, Hermes 25GigE Series, and Zeus 100GigE Series. This enhancement will be available through updated software installers scheduled for release in April 2026.
Formerly, operating system support for GPUDirect using Emergent NICs was limited to Linux.
With this release, users will be able to leverage GPUDirect capabilities in both Linux and Windows environments—significantly improving data transfer efficiency between Emergent NICs and GPU memory. By enabling direct communication between the NIC and GPU, GPUDirect reduces CPU overhead and latency. Customers will experience higher throughput and optimized system performance for demanding machine vision and high-speed imaging applications.
Importantly, this improvement requires no hardware changes. Existing Emergent NIC users can simply update their software installer to unlock GPUDirect functionality, making adoption seamless.
