VISION 2018 Highlights
November 6-8 2018 | VISION 2018 was held in Stuttgart, Germany from November 6-8. Held every other year VISION is the world’s leading trade fair for machine vision where the who’s who in the machine vision industry meets and presents an incomparable range of products and services: from sensors to processors, from cables to cameras, from software to illumination systems. Emergent Vision Technologies once again had a strong presence at the show where we showcased our new 10 GigE and 25 GigE camera models.
World’s First 25 GigE Cameras
Seven years after 10 GigE, Emergent Vision Technologies are now the first camera manufacturer to launch 25 GigE cameras on the market with ACCEL (line scan), and BOLT (area scan) cameras.
Our booth featured a live demo of the ACCEL LB-8K line scan camera. Powered by the Gpixel GL0816 CMOS sensor image sensor, the ACCEL LB-8K provides multilinear scans with a horizontal image resolution of 8192 effective pixels and a line rate of 200 KHz (single line). Recommended applications include inspection, sorting and production control. The ACCEL LB-8K will be available Q1-2019.
Another new 25 GigE camera showcased on our booth was the 50 megapixel area scan BOLT HB-50000. This model features the CMOSIS cmv5000 CMOS sensor and can image at 30 frames per second at full 7920 x 6004 resolution. The BOLT HB-50000 was fitted with an EF Birger mount to allow remote control of iris and focus controls on a Canon lens. In addition this camera also comes with optical colour correction as part of its firmware to render colours in broadcast-like quality.
Our 25 GigE cameras utilize a standard SFP28 connection, which allows long cable lengths up to 10 kilometres. In addition, we have partnered with Mellanox to offer Network Interface Controllers (NICs) pre-programmed with Rivermax that provide the user with <5% CPU utilization.
10 GigE area-scan cameras with Sony IMX sensors
Another demo on our booth featured two HR-8000-S models from our 10 GigE PACE camera series. The 8 megapixel HR-8000 features the Sony IMX255 CMOS sensor. Both cameras captured images at 100 frames per second in synchronization at just under 1µs and are perfect for applications such as virtual reality and sports analysis.
Other models displayed at the show were the 7 megapixel HB-7000-S (207fps), and the 30 megapixel HB-30000-S (35fps) respectively featuring the 3rd generation Sony IMX420 and 2nd generation Sony IMX342 with SLVS-EC (Scalable Low Voltage Signaling – Embedded Clock) for highest speed.
