Leverage Sony’s Second Generation of Pregius Sensors in 10GigE and 25GigE
Figure 1: Sony Pregius CMOS image sensor
Soon after Sony announced the eventual discontinuation of its CCD image sensors, the company’s Pregius CMOS image sensors became nearly ubiquitous in the machine vision market. The IMX174, for example, quickly became integrated into industrial cameras from vendors all over the world. The technology has continued to advance: Sony is now on its fourth generation of Pregius global shutter CMOS image sensors.
Emergent Vision Technologies offers cameras equipped with sensors from Gen 2 up to Gen 4, providing customers an array of options for different application needs, such as virtual reality, immersive 3D content, machine vision inspection, sports/broadcast/entertainment, microscopy, transportation logistics imaging, intelligent transportation systems, motion capture, and volumetric capture.
HR-5000-S 10GigE SFP+ IMX250 cameras reach 163 fps at full 2448 x 2048 resolution. Available in monochrome, color, and polarized versions, HR-5000-S cameras support IEEE1588/PTP and hardwire trigger synchronization at < 1 µs, low CPU overhead, an excellent price-performance ratio, and fiber cable lengths from 1 meter to 10 kilometers without the need for fiber converters or repeaters.
HT-5000-S IMX250 cameras offer cable lengths from 1 meter up to 100 meters and use an RJ45 10GBaseT interface instead of 10GigE SFP, but otherwise they offer all the same features and come in the same model types.
HT-3000-S IMX252 cameras, meanwhile, offer cable lengths from 1 meter to 100 meters and use an RJ45 10GBaseT interface instead of 10GigE SFP. Aside from that, these cameras offer the same features as the HR-3000-S series.
HR-12000-S 10GigE SFP+ IMX253 cameras reach 80 fps at full 4096 x 3000 resolution and can be purchased in monochrome, color, and polarized models. These cameras offer the same features as the 10GigE SFP+ models mentioned above.
Figure 3: Machine vision applications such as food and beverage inspection can benefit from 10GigE, 25GigE, 50GigE, and 100GigE industrial cameras.
HT-12000-S IMX253 cameras also come in monochrome, color, and polarized options and feature the same specifications as the HR-12000-S series aside from cable length (up to 100 meters) and interface (RJ45 10GBaseT).
HR-8000S IMX255 camerasreach 110 fps at full 4096 x 2160 resolution and come in monochrome and color versions. The cameras offer all the same features as Emergent Vision Technologies’ other 10GigE SFP+ cameras.
HT-8000-S IMX255 cameras also come in monochrome and color options and have the same specifications as the HR-8000S series aside from cable length (up to 100 meters) and interface (RJ45 10GBaseT).
Emergent Vision Technologies makes three different camera families based on the Sony IMX342 CMOS sensor. HB-30000-S IMX342 camerasachieve a 35.4 fps frame rate at full 6464 x 4852 resolution via a 25GigE interface. Available in monochrome and color versions, the cameras offer three supported cabling options for cable lengths from 1 meter to 10 kilometers, as well as low CPU overhead, low latency, low jitter, and support IEEE1588/PTP and hardwire trigger synchronization at < 1 µs.
Figure 4: The HB-30000-S 25GigE camera won the 2019 NAB Product of the Year.
HR-30000-S IMX342 cameras use a 10GigE SFP+ interface to achieve a frame rate of 35 fps at full resolution and also come in color and monochrome versions. Lastly, HR-30000-S IMX342 camerasuse a RJ45 10GBaseT interface to reach 35 fps at full resolution as well.
Like the IMX342 camera models, the cameras based on the IMX367 sensor come with 25GigE, 10GigE SFP+, and RJ45 10GBaseT interface options. HB-20000-S IMX367 cameras, HR-20000-S, and HT-20000-S IMX367 cameras achieve 43 fps at full 4416 x 4428 resolution. These camera types offer the same benefits as the other 25GigE, 10GigE SFP+, and RJ45 10GBaseT cameras mentioned in this blog, as do the IMX387 cameras discussed below.
Like our IMX367 cameras, those based on the IMX387 also come in 25GigE, 10GigE SFP+, and RJ45 10GBaseT interface options. HB-17000-S IMX367 cameras, as well as HR-17000-S and HT-17000-S IMX387 cameras, reach 61 fps at full 5456 x 3076 resolution.
