Emergent software now supports software control of iris, zoom and focus with Canon RF lenses.

Iris, zoom and focus for Canon RF Lenses can now be controlled within Emergent machine vision software

Emergent Vision Technologies is announcing new support for software-based control of zoom, iris, and focus when using RF lenses with its camera lineup. This enhancement brings greater flexibility for customers looking to use Canon RF lens ecosystem.

Emergent recently announced that all its cameras now support RF lenses, developed with Canon’s engineering support.

With this release, zoom, iris and focus capabilities control are now supported on compatible RF lenses. This allows users to dynamically adjust focal length in real time, supporting applications in entertainment and sports, industrial automation and advanced vision applications.

This capability is available across all Emergent camera models that support RF lenses. A firmware update is required for both the camera and the RF lens adapter, with adapter firmware version 4.0.1 or higher needed to enable full functionality.

This development underscores Emergent’s commitment to expanding lens integration capabilities and delivering highly adaptable, software-defined imaging solutions.
