Emergent Vision Technologies Launches eCapture Pro Application Development Software

127.7 MP 25GigE Camera

PORT COQUITLAM, British Columbia — Feb. 9, 2023 — Emergent Vision Technologies, a pioneer in high-speed GigE Vision cameras and vision technologies, introduces eCapture Pro, comprehensive development software for applications ranging from volumetric capture and the metaverse to machine vision.

The software provides an intuitive graphical interface for complete and easy system integration, camera setting flexibility, advanced preview and recording, and synchronized capture to microsecond accuracy, as well as calibration, background, and production take management capabilities. In addition, eCapture Pro enables the use of the industry’s fastest frame rates.

“With eCapture Pro, we aim to facilitate the development and integration of the world’s highest-performance cameras and provide immediate access to images from the cameras either stored in SSDs or passed to GPUs for custom processing,” said John Ilett, president and CTO at Emergent Vision Technologies.

Simple, Start-to-Finish 3D Reconstruction

A winner in the Camera Support, Control, and Accessories category of the 2022 NAB Product of the Year Awards, eCapture Pro software delivers advanced playback functionality for spatial and time domains, camera calibration with auto camera position detection, integrated 3D reconstruction and texturing, an Unreal/Unity plugin for streaming models, and more. In addition, the software offers a control center from power-up all the way to 3D model asset generation — a complete geometric representation of the scene. Models can be loaded into metaverse software such as Blender and Unreal Engine as a starting point for any kind of 3D production, with assets repurposed for multiple scenarios.

“While applications such as volumetric capture or motion capture stages require multiple, high-resolution, high-frame-rate cameras, a means for processing and reconstructing video is also required,” said Ilett. “With eCapture Pro, end users have an easy-to-use tool for complete project management, from camera start-up and configuration to 3D reconstruction and playback.”

Additionally, eCapture Pro supports GPUs, Windows, and Linux operating systems, and multi-camera and multi-server setups. Check out this 3D reconstruction and playback video demonstration, which features eCapture Pro software, 36x 10GigE cameras, one switch, one server, and one GPU running at 210 Gbps and recording to server SSDs.
